What is a
Learning Difference?

Learning differences mean that some children process information differently than others.

This can affect reading, writing, or organization, but it doesn't reflect their intelligence.

At MY REALIA, we see these differences as unique ways of learning that deserve personalized support.

How to Recognize Learning Differences?

Parents may observe early signs of learning differences, such as:

  1. Difficulty with learning the alphabet, reading, or writing.

  2. Challenges in understanding directions or following conversations.

  3. Struggles with maintaining focus or staying organized.

  4. Difficulty with fine motor tasks, such as holding a pencil or tying shoelaces.

If you recognize these signs in your child, MY REALIA is here to provide the support and guidance you need.

1

Difficulty with learning the alphabet, reading, or writing.

Difficulty with the alphabet, reading, or writing can mean your child learns in their own unique way. If these challenges stick around, extra support could make things easier and more fun for them.

2

Challenges in understanding

direction and following conversation.

If your child often seems unsure about where to go, has a hard time keeping up when people are talking, or misses important details, it might be because they understand information in their own unique way.

3

Struggles with maintaining focus

or staying organized.

Struggling to stay focused or organized can be another sign of a learning difference. It can make everyday tasks feel overwhelming for some children. They may get distracted easily, lose track of what they’re doing, or have a hard time keeping their things in order.

4

Difficulty with fine motor tasks, such as holding a pencil or tying shoelaces.

Another sign of a learning difference is struggling with fine motor skills. Children facing these challenges might hold a pencil awkwardly, struggle to form letters, or find tasks like tying shoelaces frustrating and time-consuming.

How Do We Identify
Learning Differences?

At MY REALIA, we conduct thorough assessments to understand each child's unique needs. Our approach includes:

1

READING EVALUATIONS

This involves assessments that identify a child's ability to break down words (decoding) and understand reading material (comprehension).

2

WRITING TESTS

This includes evaluating handwriting, sentence structure, and the organization of thoughts. It helps in understanding any fine motor skill challenges or difficulties in expressing ideas clearly in written form.

3

ATTENTION OBSERVATIONS

Tracking how well a child can maintain focus, stay on task, and complete activities. Observing attention patterns can reveal areas that may benefit from strategies for better focus and engagement.

4

MULTISENSORY ACTIVITIES

Using a mix of visual, auditory, and hands-on learning methods to discover which approach suits each child best. This helps tailor teaching strategies to individual learning preferences, making learning more accessible and effective.

DYSLEXIA

At MY REALIA, we specialise in supporting children with dyslexia through personalised lessons focused on reading, writing, and spelling. Using fun, hands-on activities and phonics-based methods, we help children build confidence and succeed in their learning journey.

AUTISM

At MY REALIA, we support children on the autism spectrum with tailored lessons that focus on communication, social skills, and language development. Using structured routines and engaging activities, we create a safe and supportive environment where children can build confidence and learn effectively.

Who are our parents?

At My Realia, we work with incredible parents who share a passion for their children’s growth and success. They come from diverse backgrounds but are united by their dedication and values. Do you see yourself in these qualities?
